Exploratory Data Analysis:
Airbnb & Hotels in NYC



Used Tableau & pandas to analyze the NYC Airbnb dataset (from kaggle) to extract the following insights:

  • Location: Over time, the location of Airbnb's can be correlated with the location of hotels and actively gentrifying neighborhoods.
  • Hosts: Airbnb 'monopolies' have taken root in New York with a few hosts having more listings than most hotels have rooms.
  • Pricing: As Airbnb prices lower, hotel & other overnight accomadation prices lower even faster.
